AUT signs a cooperation agreement with the Butrint Management Foundation

The Agriculture University of Tirana has signed a cooperation agreement with the Butrint Management Foundation (BMF), marking an important step toward strengthening collaboration in the fields of scientific research, sustainable management, and the professional training of students.

The agreement was signed by the Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Fatbardh Sallaku, and the Director of the Butrint Management Foundation, Ms. Jorida Muho. Also present at the meeting were Prof. Dr. Endrit Kullaj, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Elvin Toromani.

The agreement aims to establish a sustainable framework of cooperation between the two institutions, including support for professional internships for AUT students in the Butrint National Park, the development of joint research and scientific projects, as well as the exchange of expertise in fields related to biodiversity, ecological monitoring, and sustainable land management.

One of the key components of this agreement is the commitment to drafting and implementing management plans for Butrint National Park, as well as the active involvement of students and academic staff in monitoring programs and scientific analyses.

Additionally, the parties will collaborate in organizing training sessions, seminars, and informational activities related to career development and the enhancement of professional capacities.

This agreement comes within the framework of AUT’s efforts to strengthen ties with key institutions in the country and to provide concrete opportunities for students and academic staff, while simultaneously contributing to the protection and management of Albania’s natural and cultural assets.
