The strategic AUT–BOKU partnership is being strengthened within the framework of the AUT–BOKU 2030 project.

Interinstitutional cooperation between AUT and BOKU Vienna is being further strengthened within the framework of the long-term UBT–BOKU 2030 project, aiming to enhance the quality of scientific research and the internationalization of academic programs in the fields of animal science and agri-environmental sciences.

Prof. Dr. Etleva Delia from the Department of Animal Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment at AUT, carried out a working visit to BOKU Vienna at the invitation of the Director of the Institute of Animal Nutrition, Livestock Products and Nutrition Physiology, Martin Gierus, as well as Prof. Christiane Schwarz.

During the visit, working meetings were held with the academic and research staff of the institute, where concrete opportunities were discussed for:

  • joint applications in international research projects;
  • exchange of academic staff and student mobility;
  • co-supervision of doctoral dissertations and support for early-stage PhD candidates;
  • joint development of research infrastructure and innovative methodologies.

Prof. Delia became closely acquainted with the current focus of scientific research at BOKU, the ongoing doctoral research topics, as well as the modern laboratories that support studies in the field of animal nutrition and physiology — key elements for the transfer of expertise and the strengthening of capacities at AUT as well.

An important highlight of the visit was participation in the annual scientific symposium “Animal Nutrition in the Digital Age,” where the latest developments in the digitalization of animal nutrition were presented, including the use of advanced technologies in ration formulation and the sustainable optimization of livestock performance. This participation serves as a bridging platform for AUT’s integration into broader international research and industry networks.

The AUT–BOKU 2030 collaboration represents a strategic step toward building a long-term partnership, aiming to enhance the quality of teaching, strengthen scientific research, and create concrete opportunities for students and academic staff at both institutions.
