The Agricultural University of Tirana participated in the international agriculture fair “Agriculture Days 2026,” held in Lushnje, presenting itself as one of the leading institutions of knowledge and innovation in the agri-food sector in Albania.
At its stand, the university presented its new bachelor programs, fully revised and harmonized according to European standards under the supervision of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna (BOKU). These programs reflect the university’s transformation within the framework of the UBT–BOKU 2030 reform and its orientation toward modern education in the field of “Life Sciences.”
The fair was held in the presence of important institutional figures, including the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Salla, and the Mayor of Lushnje, Eriselda Sefa.
From UBT, Prof. Dr. Endrit Kullaj and Prof. Dr. Valbona Hobdari from the Institute of Plant Genetic Resources contributed to the discussion panels, where they shared perspectives on the development of agriculture and the role of scientific research.
One of the elements that particularly attracted visitors’ attention was the soil analysis device presented by UBT, which demonstrates the practical and innovative approach the university offers to the agricultural sector.
The fair brought together a wide range of businesses from across Albania, which showcased various products, ranging from dairy and meat products to artisanal jams and other traditional and processed goods.
Students from UBT were also part of the event, having the opportunity to familiarize themselves closely with the latest developments in the sector and to establish direct contacts with market stakeholders.
A special moment for the university was also the presence of its alumni, who are now integrated into the labor market, employed in businesses or leading their own initiatives. This fact demonstrates UBT’s tangible impact on human capital development and on strengthening the agricultural sector in the country.
