Rural Tourism Management

The Department “Rural Tourism Management” (DMTR) was created in 2012 as an innovation and need of economy establishing at that time a bachelor program of the same name. It offers study programs in the field of rural tourism and conducts scientific research in: strategies and policies for a sustainable rural tourism, management of rural tourism enterprises, relation between rural tourism and territorial development, hospitality, tourist behavior, rural community as a social group in relation with tourism, as well as the connection between tourism and natural, cultural and human. The department consists of an academic staff of professors, lecturers and researchers who are very active in the fields of rural tourism and territorial development having a long experience in teaching and scientific research.

✅ Mission

The mission of DMTR team is scientific, professional and social education of students as:

• managers, experts and skilled consultants of agrotouristic farms and other tourism enterprises,

•developers and promoters of policies for the inclusion of rural communities in their territory development,

• leaders for the economic development of rural areas

•professionals and multidisciplinary practitioners in agrotourism farms

🌟 Vision

The vision of DMTR, as an integral part of the Faculty of Economics and Agribusiness and the Agricultural University, is that DMTR becomes an important competitive point in the country and region for teaching, research and knowledge transfer in the function of rural tourism and conservation of local inherited rural culture.
