Prof. Dr. Hubert Hasenauer is elected Honorary Member of the Academy of Sciences of Albania

Academy of Sciences of Albania elected Prof. Dr. Hubert Hasenauer as an Honorary Member at its annual meeting, in a special moment that was welcomed with applause by the Assembly.


Prof. Hasenauer is a professor of forest ecosystem management and former Rector of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna, Austria. He is widely recognized for his contributions to forest ecology, ecosystem modeling, and the sustainable management of natural resources, as well as for his research on the role of forests in the global carbon cycle. With hundreds of scientific publications and extensive experience in university leadership, he is regarded as one of the most respected figures in the field of life sciences in Europe.


For the Agriculture University of Tirana, Prof. Hasenauer has played a special role. He is among the key figures directly engaged in strengthening the cooperation between UBT and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna, supporting the development of joint projects, the updating of curricula, and the alignment of academic standards with the most advanced European models.

Through his long-term commitment, the AUT–BOKU cooperation has been consolidated as one of the university’s most important international partnerships, creating greater opportunities for students and academic staff in the areas of research, exchange programs, and professional development.


His election as an Honorary Member of the Academy of Sciences of Albania is a recognition of his scientific contribution, and also positive news for the continued academic cooperation between AUT and its European partners.
